Moncler has launched its latest collaborative Moncler x Fragment by Hiroshi Fujiwara collection, which looks toward Japanese heritage and mountain landscapes for inspiration.
Described by the Italian luxury fashion brand as “a new chapter in the ongoing dialogue” between the two, the collection builds on the initial collaboration between Moncler and Fujiwara, which first began with the 7 Moncler Fragment Hiroshi Fujiwara collection in 2018, the first Moncler Genius Project.
Known by many as “the godfather of Harajuku fashion,” in addition to being an accomplished DJ, Fujiwara has been a key figure within Japan’s streetwear and design culture. He has worked with Moncler several times over the years across multiple collections.
The new Moncler x Fragment by Hiroshi Fujiwara collection draws inspiration from Japan and its mountains, taking design cues from a vintage Japanese souvenir jacket from Fujiwara’s own collection. The collection includes a reversible varsity-souvenir jacket with green-and-black checked flannel, graffiti-inspired FRGMT branding and nods to Moncler’s Milan headquarters.
Focusing on lightweight dressing, the collection also features windbreakers, shirt jackets and jerseys, alongside hoodies, t-shirts and trousers. For the first time, the collaborative collection also introduces FRGMTmini, aka childrenswear, offering “Mini Me” versions of selected styles including a checked coach jacket, hoodie, sweatpants and puppy-print t-shirt.
The collection also includes footwear, with the collaborative Moncler + Clarks Originals + Fragment Trailgrip Wallabee GTX boot. The three-way design combines Clarks’ Wallabee silhouette with a waterproof GORE-TEX lining and Moncler’s Trailgrip Vibram outsole. Fragment’s interpretation comes in an all-black colourway with signature detailing.
The Moncler x Fragment by Hiroshi Fujiwara collection is now available in selected Moncler stores around the world and on moncler.com. The latest collection drop, this release sees Moncler continue its strategy of using long-term creative partnerships to connect its alpine heritage with contemporary fashion, streetwear and lifestyle culture.
