Nike celebrates NBA partnership with new connected jerseys

This past weekend, Nike just unveiled a new uniform design for teams as well as a new hoodie design. The powerhouse sportswear brand just launched a new tech-enabled jersey as well as a warm-up outerwear jacket in celebration of an eight-year partnership with the NBA.

The warm-up hoodie is designed with athletes in mind with a "thermaflex" material. Additionally, the new uniform design allows for fans to scan a machine-washable tag on the jersey and receive game day content, according to Business of Fashion. The uniforms allow for an overall more interactive, tech-savvy experience for consumers. “You can imagine this in the future in more product types acting as the simplest way to get to that service that we have, with as little effort as possible," Stefan Olander, vice president of digital for Nike, told the publication.

The prices for the jerseys vary based on team and design and range from 110 to 200 dollars. The connected jersey shows how Nike is moving towards a more involved experience with customers as well as connect players with their fans. As the partnership with the NBA has continued to grow, it seems that Nike its enthusiasm by targeting its new clientele from an innovative angle.
