Nike launches Flyease sneakers for kids

Earlier this year, Nike in collaboration with basketball star Lebron James, released the Soldier Flyease 8. The sneaker featured easy-entry shoe technology. Now, Nike will be making the technology available to younger fans of the sneakers as well.

The new Lebron Zoom Solider Flyease 8 will be available beginning on New Year's day, January 1, 2016. The Lebron Zoom Soldier Flyease 9 will be released later this year, although no specific date has been revealed yet.

“This is an unbelievable story that we get to keep rewriting,” James said in a statement. “Kids should be on the move, and we have the opportunity to accelerate that with the Flyease collection.”

The Lebron Zoom Flyease 8 features the Flyease system and a wraparound zipper that opens at the heel of the shoe. The zipper makes it easy to put the shoe on, and once the it is zipped up the foot is securely in place, eliminating any need for shoelaces.

Nike plans to expand the offering to adults with the addition of a running shoe and new basketball shoe later in 2016.
