US designer Rachel Antonoff did not just design clothes for her new collection for Swedish label & Other Stories, which will be available in stores and online from tomorrow, but also made a short fashion film together with friend and hollywood actor Lena Dunham so that the collection can be properly in the spotlight.

“The story for the film was all Lena. She came up with the idea, and we all loved it immediately”, said Antonoff when talking to Style.com. “I love the idea of a driven, smart girl running for an unknown office, and I created a collection around the different aspects of her day to day life on the trail”, she explained further on the & Other Stories website.

The short film titled “Vote Audrey” shows eponymous heroine Audrey (Zoe Kazan) while going door-to-door on her campaign trail. Despite less than lukewarm welcomes, Audrey dreams big and sees herself as the next (and first female) president of the United States. However, the actual stars of the movie are the playful business outfits and slogan t-shirts that are featured.

“'Vote Audrey' is a true embodiment of this collection through and through. With the film, Lena really brought our campaign inspiration to life,“ said Antonoff about the film. The new collection, which she describes as “pretty, playful and cool“, consists of dainty dresses and retro-inspired suits in pastel colors. The designer is used to elaborate installations for her collections, having previously used a high school ball, crime story and doll house as settings.

Through its 'co lab collections', & Other Stories has been experimenting with designer collections since its launch in 2013, for example with California-based shoe label Vans and Moscow-based designer Vika Gazinskaya; for parent company H&M, ad-effective collaborations with famous designers have been paying off for years.
