Walmart has expanded its Free Assembly fashion line for women and men to include kids for autumn/winter 2021.

The inaugural Free Assembly Kids collection launches on the one-year anniversary of Walmart’s exclusive in-house designed Free Assembly fashion line for adults, and includes 50 styles for girls and boys aged 5 to 18 years old.

The collection aims to offer affordable foundational wardrobe staples, with prices ranging from 6 to 36 US dollars for shirts, dresses, hoodies, sweatshirts, jackets, T-shirts and joggers.

Deanah Baker, senior vice president of men’s, kids and shoes at Walmart US, said in a statement: “At Walmart, we continue to focus on growing our fashion assortment of exclusive, elevated brands that offer customers quality, on-trend and accessible style at an incredible value.

“At its core, Free Assembly is all about delivering approachable designs, quality fabrics, modern silhouettes and fashion-forward details.”

Highlights from the launch collection include classic plaid pieces with flannel shirts for boys and an oversized flannel shacked and smocked dress with puff sleeves for girls, while a bandana print has been used on hoodies and a drop shoulder hoodie dress.

Athleisure is also at the core of this collection, with comfortable affordable pieces including a graphic hoodie, fleece bomber jacket, fleece cargo pants and joggers, as well as a range of cropped silhouettes including wide-leg cropped sweatpants and a short sleeve cropped T-shirt.

There are several coordinated looks, for girls, there are monochromatic sets featuring fleece sweatshirts and wide-leg sweats with “we are the future” embroidered on the back, while for boys, the collection offers colour blocking with a zip sweatshirt and matching joggers.

Baker added: “We designed Free Assembly Kids to seamlessly complement our adult collection with many of the above trends like athleisure, plaid and cropped silhouettes being explored in our latest drop for men and women as well. And, just like the adult line, Free Assembly Kids is made with a commitment to sustainability – several pieces in the fall collection include organic cotton or recycled polyester.”
