Zang Toi gives us socialite chic for NYFW

There was no lack of socialites at Zang Toi's New York Fashion Week show. From Donald Trump's first wife Ivana Trump to Miss Universe, Iris Mittenaere, it was quite an impressive audience. It was evident that Toi truly knows his customer.
This season for New York Fashion Week, Toi's theme for this season's collection was "luxe life on Lake Garda", in reference to the lake in Northern Italy. This led to him creating a color palette based on the intense colors of the lake, emerald green and turqoise provided the elegant pops of color, while white and black balanced them out as neutrals.
It's no wonder he's a favorite of the Upper East Side crowd, the designer can do an excellent gown. His bi-color black and white crepe empired cocktail dress bordered with French lace said "I am money" in the most chic way without making too much of a statement.
Silhouettes draped off the body with a luxurious ease, rather than having that too boxy and masculine look. Everything piece had an air of relaxed femininity. His opening look of an emerald silk gazar cloud flowy caftan coat bordered with black chantilly lace paired with an emerald and black reversible tunic and legging said that this season was going to be all about ease.
Don't think all the glamour would be forsaken though. He still had to give his Upper East Side ladies some drama. Toi closed the show with a white couture silk gazar princess coat with hand beaded sketches and an emerald silk taffeta empired mini dress. It was an elegant, yet easy statement look for a collection that was all about statement luxury that wasn't too loud.
He knows what his women want, and ask and you shall receive.
