Daniel Kearns joins Boss to head up David Beckham’s collections

German fashion house Hugo Boss has named Daniel Kearns as the new head of design for footballer David Beckham’s Boss by Beckham collections.

Kearns, who most recently held the role of chief creative officer at both Kent & Curwen and Cerruti 1881, will oversee the Boss by Beckham collection creation and all elements of the design, merchandising and branding “from concept to execution”.

Boss by Beckham first launched in May 2024 featuring pieces designed to showcase Beckham’s personal style, bridging the gap between high-end tailoring and elevated casualwear. The appointment of Kearns comes as Hugo Boss looks to elevate the collaboration between Boss and Beckham and drive forward the growth of the line, which Boss said has “attracted many fans worldwide”.

Kearns will be based in London and will work closely with Beckham on the ongoing creation and direction of the line. He will present his first collection for autumn/winter 2027.

Kearns has extensive menswear designer experience, and has previously worked with Beckham when he helped the footballer relaunch British heritage brand Kent & Curwen, under parent company Trinity Group, before the Hong Kong-based group fell into administration in 2022. He was then brought back on board by new owners Guangzhou-based Biem. L. Fdlkk Garment Group, which also owns the Parisian menswear brand Cerruti 1881, to relaunch the brand for spring/summer 2025 at London Fashion Week.

Before that, he worked in various menswear designer positions at Alexander McQueen, John Galliano, Yves Saint Laurent and Gucci.
