Slate & Stone, the New York-based men's sportswear company, has named Jeff Block their new President. Prior to his new position at Slate & Stone, Block served as Vice President of several brands under the Perry Ellis portfolio. In addition, he has also held Vice President positions at Original Penguin and Cockpit USA.

In his new role, Block will be responsible for developing a strategy to help promote brand growth and sales. He will also be tasked with creating a global sales force to further the brand's global presence. “The modern luxury, contemporary consumer expects a more in-depth, cultural connection with the brand before he purchases,” Block was quoted saying to Women's Wear Daily. “My excitement on the merchandising side for Slate & Stone will include a more prestige- and lifestyle-driven point of view.”

Block's background with multiple men's wear brands is what helped him land this position, with Gary Jacobs, principal of Slate & Stone praising him for his years of men's wear experience. The brand, which was founded in 2012 by creative director Jeffrey Jacobs, is currently sold at Nordstrom stores. Under Block's guidance, it might be far more stores than Nordstrom seeing Slate & Stone across America and globally.
