Chanel has a new executive vice president of fashion for the U.S. Joyce Green has been promoted to the aforementioned role as announced by Chanel on October 29, 2015. Green will be succeeding her celebrated colleague Barbara Cirkva, who announced earlier this year she would be stepping down from her post in March 2016.

Green's most previous role at Chanel was as senior vice president of multibrand retail in the fashion division. Earlier in her career at Chanel, she was senior vice president of makeup marketing, and prior to that she was senior vice president of sales in the fragrance and beauty division.

Before she began climbing up the ranks at Chanel, Green held several executive positions at Kiehl's, Clarins, and Guerlain. She will be stepping into her new role in January 2016, and will be reporting to Chanel's Chief Operating Officer John Galantic.

“With her deep understanding of Chanel from multiple vantage points and across all channels, as well as her strong leadership and client-centric approach, Joyce is perfectly poised to lead the fashion division and our clients into the future,” Galantic was quoted saying in WWD.

Before Cirkva departs from the company, she will be helping Green transition into her new role. While Cirkva's departure from Chanel was originally viewed as leaving a gaping hole in the company's ranks, Green seems to be the perfect person to fill the void.
