Los Angeles - E-tailer Moonbasa just added a new hire to their team. With a new retail expansion strategy, the Los Angeles-based company hired Betsy Zanjani as its new chief merchandising officer.

The Chinese-based e-commerce site announced earlier this year that it would be expanding more in the U.S. The company partnered with the U.S. Department of Commerce this February in order to bring more exposure to apparel exports to China. Zanjani, who will be based out of China, will start next month as the chief merchandising officer to also help expand U.S. business. She will help with Moonbasa’s already-in-motion strategy of opening more brick-and-mortar stores this year. The company plans to open over 30 locations by the end of the year.

Zanjani’s skills and her experience in the retail industry will help be crucial to Moonbasa’s future plans. Previously, she worked as a senior vice president for Forever 21. She worked with the youthful fast-fashion retailer for almost a decade. As Moonbasa plans to move forward, Zanjani will help the brand’s e-commerce site and online store.
