The Costume Institute is bidding adieu to its external relations officer. After nearly 15 years, Nancy Chilton is resigning. She will remain in her role until September 30, overseeing this year’s scaled-down Met Gala that will be closing out New York Fashion Week.
Chilton plans on continuing to consult for projects for The Costume Institute, and will be establishing her own communications consulting business. For years, Chilton was the go-to person for those looking to break coverage of the Met’s Costume Institute exhibits which continuously broke attendance records.
Chilton first joined The Met in 2006 and held multiple senior roles. Before joining The Met, she oversaw publicity domestically and internationally for Polo Ralph Lauren.
