New CEO for Danish womenswear label Baum und Pferdgarten
Danish womenswear label Baum und Pferdgarten has a new chief executive.
Morten Linnet is taking on the role of chief executive officer (CEO) at the Copenhagen-based fashion house this month, the manager announced on the professional network LinkedIn on Tuesday. He succeeds Teis Werring Bruun, who stepped down from the position in January after nine years. Founders Rikke Baumgarten and Helle Hestehave, who established the brand in 1999, will remain on board, according to Linnet. They are both active as creative directors.
“Baum und Pferdgarten is one of Denmark's strongest fashion houses and is excellently positioned both creatively and commercially,” wrote Linnet. “I look forward to unlocking the company's significant international potential together with the team.”
Most recently, Linnet headed the Danish brand Skall Studio for around two years. Before that, he worked for a long time at the Danish fashion group IC Group, which at the time included Tiger of Sweden and By Malene Birger, among others. He initially worked there for almost nine years in human resources, most recently as senior vice president for group HR and transformation. He then took over the management of By Malene Birger, a position he held for more than five years.
About Baum und Pferdgarten
Baum und Pferdgarten is from Copenhagen and is a permanent fixture of the city's fashion week. The brand plays with typical Scandinavian minimalism but contrasts this with vibrant colours, bold prints and romantic details. The majority owner since 2019 has been the investment company Verdane, headquartered in Oslo; the founders continue to hold a minority stake.
In addition to its own flagship store in the Danish capital and its online shop, the brand is represented internationally through wholesale. According to the company, it operates in more than 30 countries via around 400 retail partners. To this end, it works with agencies and showrooms in Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Spain, Italy, the UK, the US and Japan. It has its own showroom in Copenhagen.
On its own webshop, basics such as tank tops and T-shirts start at 59 euros. Blouses start at 129 euros, jeans at 139 euros and cardigans at 169 euros.
