The Mountain announces new CEO

Bridgit Lombard, executive chairman of The Mountain, an eco-friendly clothing company, has announced that Kenny Ballard, former senior vice president of operations at Osprey Packs, has joined the company as chief executive officer, effective May 15.

Ballard comes with an extensive list of experiences and successes that are sure to translate to his new role at The Mountain. As president of outdoor brand Kelty he created and implemented strategic direction and achieved record sales growth, solidifying the brand's value within the outdoor industry. In his most recent role at Osprey Packs, Kenny led strategic day to day operations and management for the business, and was a key member of the leadership team through the most profitable years.

Regarding his new role, Ballard said, "I am thrilled to be leading The Mountain, working with the passionate and creative team and a brand with a rich 25-year history of domestically produced, eco-sensitive, lifestyle apparel that appeals to a diverse and loyal customer base."

The Mountain, which was recently acquired by Gladstone Investment Corporation, will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2017. Currently, the brand is available at points of sale in 58 countries.
