Barneys New York launches same-day delivery service

Barneys, in an effort to improve customer satisfaction, has launched same-day delivery service for those customers who live in Brooklyn or Manhattan. So, for those Brooklyn and Manhattan customers who can't wait to get their hands on that new 3.1 Phillip Lim Mini Pashli Satchel bag or that Zac Posen cocktail dress, your wait will be much shorter than the standard 3-5 days for shipping.

Any items purchased before noon Monday through Friday can now be delivered between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. that same day, and any items purchased before 10 a.m. on Saturday can be received between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. that same day. Items that customers don't want can either be returned by mail or by courier pick-up.

Barneys launches same-day delivery service in Manhattan and Brooklyn

The same-day service does come with a fee of 25 dollars. Brooklynites and Manhattanites no longer have to have any patience when it comes to receiving their designer things.

There still hasn't been any word of whether or not same-day delivery service will be coming to any of Barneys other stores like their Philadelphia or Los Angeles locations. One of Barneys main competitors, Net-a-Porter, already has same day delivery service for areas of New York City and parts of New Jersey through a service called Net-a-Porter Premier. With Barneys new same day service, they will be able to easier compete with Net-a-Porter, who has taken over a large chunk of the luxury market since their merger with Yoox.
