When you’re alone and life is making you lonely, you can always go downtown. These words were made famous in the song Downtown by Petula Clark, but luxury brand Bottega Veneta has decided to heed that advice. The brand has opened a new permanent store in SoHo this week.

The new store is located at 101 Greene Street, and clocks in at 3000-square-feet of space. The store features ready-to-wear, leather goods, shoes, jewelry, and accessories for both men and women. This marks Bottega’s second permanent store in Manhattan in addition to their Madison Avenue flagship.

The store was conceptualized back in 2020 prior to the abrupt departure of former creative director Daniel Lee. The space features customer furniture and other interior design elements including Turkish rugs, resin and stone floors. During his tenure at Bottega Veneta, Lee was credited with reinventing the brand, creating a new era of minimalism for luxury consumers. Some considered Bottega Veneta under Daniel Lee to fill the void left by Phoebe Philo’s departure from Celine. Lee himself worked under the former Celine creative director as director of ready-to-wear design.
