Carson Street, formerly known as Carson Street clothiers, will be closing their doors on June 15.

In a statement, cofounder Matt Breen said "When our doors opened in March 2013, we had one goal: to bring something new to the men’s clothing market, both in New York City and around the world. We approached the business from a ‘fan-first’ perspective, which fueled our desire to continuously bring new product to the market, find and cultivate new brands and relationships, and keep Carson Street interesting to its loyal, amazing customers.”

The closing comes after cofounder Brian Trunzo announced that he would be departing the company to pursue other projects.

The store closure comes a surprise because the retailer seemed to be in growth mode. A new, larger store was expected to open on Greene Street in Soho, and they were also expected to add bigger, more high-end brands like J.W. Anderson and Lemaire. They even hinted at looking at other major cities like San Francisco and Los Angeles to open new stores.

At New York Fashion Week: Men's, the brand launch a men's wear line called Deveaux. Despite Carson Street closing, the line will still be carried by United Arrows, Totokaelo, Biotop, and Spruce. The spring 2017 collection will be shown at New York Fashion Week: Men's this July. The price points for the collection range from 150 dollars for cotton t-shirts to 4995 dollars for shearling outerwear.
