Christian Louboutin is expanding its number of North American stores. The famous luxury shoe brand has opened its 134th location in the world in Toronto, and has plans to break ground for two more stores in Honolulu and Houston.

The brand has opened the doors to their new boutique in Toronto's affluent Yorkville neighborhood, which is known for having numerous other luxury retailers like Chanel, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton. Louboutin's new store is a total of 2625 square feet and is two floors. The freestanding boutique was designed by Household, the London and Los Angeles agency, which created a store based on the idea of an enchanted forest in the city.

The facade of the store is red with white curved trim tracing the points of Victorian architecture. The forest inspired motif continues with silver birch wallpaper, deep green sofas, and branches bent from antique brass extending to the ceiling, all contrasting with the red carpeting. Louboutin's are signature for their red lacquered soles after all.

In an effort to support their growing men's business, Louboutin mimicked a cabin in the woods on the top floor for a masculine touch. Their men's shoes have been made popular thanks to the likes of celebrities like Lenny Kravitz, Andrew Garfield, and Adam Lambert.

Bags are clustered in the wall to give the impression of a canopy, and a tree trunk has been polished into a sophisticated coffee table.

Louboutin has come far since it first opened as a shoe boutique in Paris in 1992. Two years ago, the brand broke into the beauty market with their nail polishes, and recently, they introduced Loubalique, a set of high-shine lip lacquers.

In addition to their store openings, the company also dressed the Cuban team for the Rio Olympics. Unlike Polo Ralph Lauren, the items are not for sale, but they are helping the company garner more international recognition.
