eBay has expanded its consignment service to include luxury apparel. The move follows the launch of eBay’s mobile luxury consignment service last December, as the online reseller marketplace aims to leverage increasing consumer interest in pre-loved apparel.

Sellers can now request the aid of eBay’s experts to list and sell their luxury apparel on their behalf. eBay's consignment service, initially introduced last year for handbags, has revolutionized the way luxury items are sold on the platform. This approach has consistently yielded stronger sales outcomes for sellers. For example, a small quilted Chanel 19 flap bag that was consigned via the new service last December exceeded the average sales price of all other bags of the same style sold on eBay last year by more than 45 percent.

The service covers leading designer brands such as Aimé Leon Dore, Balenciaga, Gucci, Kith, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Stone Island, and Supreme. eBay's curated consignment process, encompassing listing specifics, photography, and pricing strategies, ensures listings are both attractive and competitive.

eBay's consignment service is part of a range of initiatives from the online marketplace aimed at promoting circular fashion among brands, sellers, and buyers. With programs such as Direct from Brand and Certified by Brand, eBay facilitates smooth transactions across the entire inventory lifecycle. Additionally, eBay’s Authenticity Guarantee program, which has verified 7.7 million items so far, further enhances trust and confidence within the marketplace.
