Fendi has opened a new flagship store in New York City. The Italian luxury label debuted a new 6900-square-foot flagship store on the corner of 57th Street and Madison Avenue. The two-level space is located in the Art Deco-era Fuller building, which formerly housed a Coach store. The store is an upgrade from the brand’s 4100-square-foot store that was across the street.
The new store was designed by Fendi’s in-house design team in collaboration with artistic directors Kim Jones and Silvia Venturini Fendi. The store also carries Kim Jones’ first ready-to-wear collection for Fendi as well his first couture collection for the brand.
In total, Fendi has 40 points of sale in the United States, but the brand doesn’t reveal how much of their business comes from the United States. The brand has said the COVID-19 pandemic did impact their sales in the U.S. and globally, but they are beginning to rebound.
The new Fendi Madison Avenue flagship offers both women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, leather goods, accessories, jewelry, and shoes. The opening of the new flagship also marks the launch of the Fendi First bag and a new Fendi First shoe.
In September 2020, Jones took over as artistic director of Fendi after the sad death of the brand’s former artistic director Karl Lagerfeld who led the house for 54 years. Jones currently oversees couture and women’s, while Venturini Fendi oversees accessories, menswear, and childrenswear.
