Nordstrom may have given her the axe due to declining sales, but that isn't stopping Donald Trump's daughter and presidential advisor Ivanka Trump from moving full speed ahead with business as usual.

Ivanka has announced that she will be opening a new store inside of Trump Tower, her father Donald's New York residence. This will be her brand's first brick-and-mortar venture.

Prior to this newly announced store, her brand was sold through department store and wholesale channels.

Ivanka Trump to open first brick-and-mortar store

Although there was speculation over why Nordstrom chose to drop her brand, the department store made it clear their motivation was due to the brand's underperformance and in no way political.

In one of his infamous tweets, Donald Trump said "My daughter Ivanka has been treated so unfairly by Nordstrom. She is a great person — always pushing me to do the right thing! Terrible!" This sparked the ire of his political base to boycott Nordstrom and other retailers who dropped his daughter's brand.

Although Ivanka stepped down from her brand when her father took office, she rolled her business proceeds into a trust overseen by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Joshua Kushner and Nicole Meyer according to Business Insider. However, according to The New York Times she has still profited off the brand, making 6 million dollars between the beginning of last year and May 2017.

Racked was the first to confirm the opening of the new store, but it is unknown as this time if further brick-and-mortar store openings are planned.
