Though the millennial generation has inspired ways to shop that are as simple as a single swipe, it takes away the experience of trying products on to see how they look and feel in person. However, jewelry shopping app and e-commerce site Kollectin is bringing the virtual experience to its consumers with the launch of Xperience Mode.

According to a press release from the brand, the new feature uses augmented reality to allow its users to virtually try on jewelry using the camera on their smartphones or other mobile devices. This software sizes the brand’s stock of earrings and necklaces proportionately to each user’s live video image, which allows customers to accurately visualize how these pieces will look in person. The new feature is similar to eyewear companies that have used virtual try-ons for consumers on their websites.

“Kollectin was built on the idea of using technology to connect women through fashion, and with the new patent pending Augmented Reality ‘Xperience Mode’ feature, we are one step closer to doing just that, says Nadia Lee, co-founder and CEO of the brand. “By allowing our customers to virtually try on jewelry, shop at home and connect on social media with their favorite influencers, we’ve created a brand new and unprecedented experience pushing Kollectin to the very forefront of mobile and online commerce.”
