Jockey, the American brand known for underwear and innerwear, will now be stepping into the world of footwear. The brand is working with the Eastman Group to design, manufacture, and market a line of men's and women's casual footwear. The new line will include men's and women's slippers, flip flops, and athleisure styles.

The new lines will also be heavy on the fashion technology as well, featuring moisture-wicking and temperature regulating fabrics with antimicrobial qualities. The Eastman Group was the perfect partner for this venture, because they are known for their technical fabrics and innovative construction. Jockey had long intended to enter the footwear category, it just took them a while to find the right licensing partner.

Milou Gwyn, Vice President of Licensing for Jockey, was quoted saying in WWD, "“We have found an ideal match with the Eastman Group, which has extensive knowledge of the footwear industry to pair with Jockey’s expertise in textile technology and comfort features. This seamless integration of quality, cross-functional and technology-driven footwear falls perfectly in line with Jockey’s commitment to deliver innovative products.” The collection will soft-launch for spring/summer 2016 and fully launch for fall/winter 2016.
