For those looking for customized handbags you no longer need to look any further than Kara Ross. Today the brand’s customization tool went live on their e-commerce site, Kararossny.com. The premise behind the customization tool is similar to Nike iD’s, which allows the customer to design every element of their sneakers, except in this case it’s for luxury handbags.

The current focus of the #myPURSEonality collection is a clutch that is based on the face with emphasis placed on certain features. #myPURSEonality includes a range of nine clutches, in addition to the option of customizing your own handbag. There are six small and three large clutches in the collection, with prices ranging anywhere from 1595 dollars for the “Uptown Girl” bag, to 2850 dollar “Mogul” bag.

These certainly aren’t your ordinary purses by any means. The Mogul bag, for example, is an oversized black suede clutch with a black hornback alligator spine, and exotic accents, which also boasts the highest price tag in the collection. Talk about a whole new take on luxury. Suede and alligator spine certainly have never come together like this before.

While the large clutches are fabulous, for the moment being the customization option is only available for the smaller clutch options. Fear not, however, the small clutch options still come with a great variety of options. Those looking for one of Kara Ross’s customizable clutches can select from a luxurious array of materials, including black leather, black python, and cream python. The price of the customizable clutches will be around the 1795 dollar mark.

For other retailers customization usually only includes the options of what color leather you want, but Ross saw a market for a real customizable handbag where almost every single thing would be selected by the consumer. Ross has set out to create a clutch bag that is an entire experience for a customer, not just a new luxury handbag purchase. How many accessory designers can say that their consumers can pick all the delicate details of their handbags down to the eyes, glasses, lips, and cheeks that the bag is accented with? Only one: Ms. Kara Ross.

Ross is also no stranger to brilliant campaign strategy either. She has already partnered with Tina Craig of Bag Snob, Fivestory’s Claire Distenfeld, Cailli and Sam Beckerman of Beckerman Blog, and model Soo Joo Park to design their own bags. In addition to Ross selling the clutches on her own e-commerce site, kararossny.com and in her brick-and-mortar store, Distenfeld will carry the #myPURSEonality bags in her Upper East Side store. E-commerce site Tinker Tailor is selling three styles of the clutch, and luxury destination website Shopbop has picked up the line as well, with totes and makeup cases expected to be offered on the site come this July.

Luxury handbag retailers better watch out, because it looks like there is a new queen in town. These one of a kind offerings are sure to tempt many women looking for their next investment piece. After all, who doesn’t want to get their hands on something that is unquestionably one of a kind?
