A new day has dawned for Dior Homme under the leadership of Kim Jones, who came to be a notorious name in the fashion industry for his tenure as menswear director of Louis Vuitton. On Wednesday morning, approximately 100 customers lined up at Dior's Isetan location in Tokyo to get their hands on the Dior menswear capsule collection, one of the first offerings designed by Jones.
In honor of the capsule collection, Jones hired New York-based artist Brian Donnelly, known professionally as Kaws, to reimagine the brand’s bee motif, and to create a new Dior logo specially for the collection.
Customers can shop t-shirts that are customizable with permanent ink in the chosen design. They are also one-of-a-kind printed with the date and number of their purchase.
The Tokyo store has an exclusive number of items including products with the Dior bee in pink rather than yellow featured on leather goods and ready-to-wear. Jones has even reinterpreted the Dior saddle bag for men.
The Tokyo pop-up marks the official launch of the capsule collection and is the first store to carry the line. The collection will rollout to Dior's Ginza store later this week, in addition to stores in London, Los Angeles, and Dubai.
