Los Angeles-based fashion brand Madhappy has opened its fourth flagship store as it continues to expand its retail presence.
Located in Malibu, California, the new 2,400 square-foot brick-and-mortar store showcases the brand’s latest collections and includes an on-site cafe. The Malibu flagship builds on the visual concept developed for its previous locations in West Hollywood, New York City, and Tokyo, and features a fresh concept created in partnership with London-based design studio Brinkworth.
Inspired by the post-war Case Study Houses that helped shape California’s architectural identity and influenced mid-century design across the world, the Malibu flagship features materials such as glass, limestone, steel, and concrete throughout.
The new retail location centers on an open-plan layout that is designed to encourage social interaction and exploration of the curated collections. A plantscape by LA-based interior plant design studio Plant Provisions helps soften the boundaries between the indoors and outdoors, strengthening the store’s connection to the surrounding landscape of Cross Creek Ranch.
In addition, the brand’s cafe concept, Pantry, which debuted in Madhappy’s first flagship store in West Hollywood, has also opened and offers a selection of local and international items, including bagels, pastries, cold-pressed juices, cinnamon rolls, soft serve ice-cream, breakfast burritos, and a classic espresso bar and tea selection.
In honor of the new store opening, Madhappy developed a special, limited-edition Malibu collection available exclusively at the new store. The Malibu opening follows the launch of the brand’s flagship store in New York City just months earlier, as it continues to strengthen its physical retail footprint, supported by investment from LVMH Luxury Ventures.
