Mezlan, the Spanish branded high quality men's footwear and accessories line founded in Almansa, Spain, has opened their seventh U.S. boutique in New York City on Madison Avenue. Located in the iconic Jefferies Building between 53rd and 54th Streets, the shop is very well curated.

Every element of the boutique was hand selected by Antonio Sanchez, the owner and designer of Mezlan, in conjunction with Zora Mobiliario of Valencia, who both focused on emphasizing the heritage of the brand. Each element was produced in Spain and installed with the aid of Spanish artisans to represent the pinnacle of old world craftsmanship.

Other features of the store include a bespoke custom shop-in-shop that offers personalized shoe fittings and materials for special orders.

This new location follows a string of Mezlan shops that have opened in the U.S., including stores in Las Vegas, Atlanta, Houston, Chicago, Washington and San Jose.

In addition to Mezlan, the boutique also features Mezlan's "younger brother" brand Bacco Bucci, the collection of more casual shoes that retail between 200 and 300 dollars.

The move to Madison Avenue is a smart one. According to a September 2016 article by DNA Info, 20 new businesses opened on Madison Avenue last year. The strip has long been home to many luxury fashion boutiques, but brands looking to expand their U.S. presence have been looking to open stores there as part of their global growth.

Strong local demand drives retail sales in the area, with 60 percent of customer traffic coming from the Upper East Side, one of New York's wealthiest neighborhoods.
