Scotch and Soda is slowly making their rounds around New York City, and becoming quite popular with the New York fashion crowd. Their popularity has lead them to the lovely neighbourhood of Greenwich Village, where the brand has opened a second location on the corner of Bleecker and Grove Streets. The new location is an intimate space of 1100 square feet, and brings the brand's total number of NYC locations to three.

The brand known for their Amsterdam casual sportswear, is quickly turning into a must have label for many. They also fit right in with the artsy lower Manhattan crowd who aren't into wearing the generic trends everyone else is wearing. They cater to the type of people who are looking to say, "Oh this, it's Amsterdam couture," when they are asked where they got their outfits.

The store also boasts the privilege of being in the heart of the neighborhood's historical district. This is clearly reflected in the classic NYC architecture, with a cast iron pillar outside, mosaic tile floors, vaulted ceilings, and a painted white brick wall in the back. The shop offers both men's and women's apparel, accessories, and of course the brand's signature Blauw jeans.

Scotch and Soda adds third NYC location

60 percent of Scotch and Soda's label is men's wear, while women's and children's makes up the remaining 40 percent. Currently, they operate 160 stores around the world, including 21 here in the United States. In 2011, the label was acquired by Sun Capital Partners, who intended for the brand to operate under their Kellwood division, but, they decided to let the brand stand as a separate entity located in Amsterdam.

In addition to their new Greenwich Village location, Scotch and Soda is also located in Union Square and Soho in NYC. The company usually looks to major cities for their brick-and-mortar locations, and also operate stores in cities such as Miami, Boston, Los Angeles, and San Francisco just to name a few. Ari Hoffman, who has worked in executive roles at Gant and Benetton, was named their CEO of Scotch and Soda USA last September, and this is the first store that has opened since he was appointed.

He is expected to lead the brand into a new phase in the United States. A major expansion plan could be on the way, and they are already looking at additional retail space in other neighborhoods in Manhattan, as well as locations in Brooklyn. Everyone in NYC seems to want a piece of Amsterdam couture.
