Everyone is after a piece of the Asian market nowadays, and the next up trying to take his slice of the pie is Thom Browne. The man who has some of the best suits on the streets of NYC has teamed up with Joyce Group to open a Hong Kong flagship store. The store opens today on Lan Street, Hong Kong's fashion center.

The store is 1700-square-feet and is modeled after Browne's first store in NYC. The design for the store was done in collaboration with studio Mellone. The boutique is three floors and features a glass box enclosed staircase with white blinds that weave back and forth. The office is almost reminiscent of something straight out of "Mad Men" with the fifties and early sixties style office inspiration.

The lighting is simple and fluorescent, the walls are a quiet grey marble, and furniture is very midcentury and was curated from the collections of Paul McCobb, Edward Wormley, and Pierre Jeanneret. The ground floor was made to look like a lobby and contains minimal to no merchandise. Browne's men's collections will be carried on the remaining two floors, obviously.

On his selection of Joyce Group as his partner, Browne was quoted saying in Women's Wear Daily, [Joyce] has been very supportive of me and my collection from the very beginning, so it was a natural choice to partner with them to open my boutique in Hong Kong.” Joyce is still in talks with Thom Browne to open additional stores in China, but, nothing is concrete yet. This won't be Browne's first dive into the Asian market, however, he also operates a boutique in Tokyo. He'll be a much welcome presence to Hong Kong, and will also be great for helping those businessman and diplomats expand their suit selections.
