Retail

Valextra is aiming to triple its global sales. While it is an ambitious goal, they have a plan firmly in place to do so.

For the past decade, Valexra has exlusively retailed through Barneys New York in the United States. However, they have begun widening their distribution to even include Barneys competitors like Bergdorf Goodman.

However, Valextra no longer retails at Barneys New York flagship, but they still retail at their Chelsea location, in addition to their stores in San Francisco, Beverly Hills and Chicago. The label has also found wholesale partners through 13 additional points of sale including Mitchell's in Greenwich Connecticut and A'maree's in California.

Valextra eyeing U.S. expansion

“Valextra is a little bit of a secret jewel and we think that is the strength of the brand, the DNA of the brand is understated luxury. Our aesthetic is meant to be very pure, very graphic and quite restrained, but at the same time we are a company that is competing across the world with very strong brands so it is important to be able to tell a story and start talking with the customer,” ceo Sara Ferrero said to WWD.

Although Valextra doesn't reveal hard numbers regarding their sales figures, they have said that there was a 40 percent increase in sales during 2016.

This year, Valextra opened a new store on London's Mount Street, which opened earlier this month. A new Valextra boutique is scheduled to open in Shanghai in December.
