There are certainly those sitting around reading this thinking, "what took them so long?" Whatever they were waiting for, iconic American brand Van Heusen has announced that they will now be adding a new category to their offerings: watches. The PVH Corp. owned brand will be producing men's and boys watches under a licensing agreement with Accutime Watch Corporation.

Accutime, which is based in New York City, will be handling the manufacturing, selling, distributing, and promotion of the watches, which will be sold in specialty stores and department stores throughout the U.S. and Canada beginning in 2016. “We are excited to add men’s and boys’ watches to the Van Heusen portfolio of products. We believe that watches are a natural extension of the Van Heusen brand, given the brand’s foundation within dress furnishings and sportswear separates,” said Ken Wyse, president of licensing for PVH Corp in a statement.

While no further details have been released about the collection yet, given Van Heusen's dapper aesthetic the watches are sure to be classy. The licensing agreement runs through the entirety of 2016, so, that's a whole year of what's expected to be superb watch offerings. Whether the license could continue will most likely depend on the sales of the watches throughout the year.
