Walter Steiger is trying to expand his retail presence in America. Several years ago, the Paris-based luxury shoe brand made a push stateside, and now to attract more American consumers they are launching e-commerce. As the brand prepares for their 50th anniversary next year, growing brand awareness is more important to them now than ever.
Today, September 1, 2015, the brand will officially launch their new e-commerce channel, which will be available to both U.S. and European customers. Price points for their collection range from 595 dollars for a black patent leather pump to 1850 dollars for brown crocodile skin loafers. The site will also carry exclusive online offerings, like the 995 dollars gold crackle leather bootie and the 820 satin leather pumps.
With e-commerce looking like the future for luxury brands, Walter Steiger is making a very smart business move. After Chanel announced it's e-commerce launch last April it was just a matter of time before the luxury goods industry bowed to the power of e-commerce. Walter Steiger is sure to be closer to becoming a destination luxury shoe brand after today's e-commerce launch.
