About the Role
The Senior Manager Visual Operations role provides strategic and analytical direction to the Visual and Creative teams. Leading the communication strategies, advocating for resources, planning major initiatives, and ensuring effective use of budget and adherence to financial guidelines, in partnership with Head of Visual.What You'll Do
Partner with Head of Visual and set strategy based on priorities and budget to allocate resources and team against major deliverables for the year
Create communication for partners (leadership, Finance, Field, etc.) regarding planned work and how major initiatives will be accomplished, partnership needed, timelines, etc.
Create cases/ justification for investment in Visual projects
Build and lead communication with cross functional partners and leaders by creating a platform to showcase the group’s objectives, activities, and results
Negotiate with vendors when needed
Work with Head of Visual to plan out annual expense budget, working with parameters of overall Marketing budget
Prioritize and justify capital expenditures and present to Head of Visual for approval
Ensure accurate budget tracking and reconciliation each month / quarter
Assess ability to reduce/ give back when needed
Plan out & manage project-specific budgets
Work with Sourcing where appropriate to maximize Gap Inc leverage
Determine appropriate treatment of costs- capital vs expense- and work with teams to ensure correct attribution
Oversee vendors to ensure deliverables are met and vendors accountable
Work with Creative Services and Architecture and Engineering on new & remodel stores
Ensure appropriate Visual Merchandise elements for new & remodel stores are provided
Provide Visual input & perspective on new directions (e.g., fixtures, store layouts)
Work with Procurement & Sourcing teams to ensure effective purchasing
Work with Field team to prepare for and execute special initiatives and projects
Collaborate on major roll-outs
Work with vendors to ensure stores are receiving what they need, and to troubleshoot issues
Manage team of Creative members
Creating decks to support strategic plans & proposals – presenting as needed to Executive leadership
Crafting communication with internal (leadership) and external (vendors, consultants) partners
Drawing insights from data and share recommendations as appropriate
Managing complex budget spreadsheets
Partnering effectively with business partners from varied teams (Finance, Real Estate Finance, Creative Services, Sourcing, Construction, Technical Services, Store Operations, Field)
Fluency with PowerPoint, Word, Excel
Who You Are
5 – 7 years retail and/or visual experience in apparel, luxury brands preferred.
Collaborative mindset, with desire to foster partnership and integration with key cross functional teams (marketing, brand experience, creative, real estate, product etc.)
Outstanding organizational skills, communication, writing and presentation skills.
Ability to determine solutions independently, think creatively, proactively, and implement rapidly.
Demonstrated ability understand business challenges and recommend effective implementation plans designed to drive results and remain on budget.
Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to work through ambiguity
High attention to detail with demonstrated ability to care for multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
