First, he's got his hip-hop t-shirt collection that has dropped today, and now, Alexander Wang has announced he will be showing his spring/summer 2018 collection in Brooklyn's Bushwick neighborhood. Not only that, but he has two pop-up shops planned en-route to the venue.
The event, dubbed #Wangfest, will begin at 9:30 and will once again be a standing room only event. Guests are expected to pick up their wristbands ahead of time at the Grand Street boutique in anticipation of the show. The show will take place in a warehouse, as Wang is known for hosting his show in large, spacious venues. In the past he has used Chelsea Piers and Park Avenue Armory.
Wang is known for bringing out a star-studded crown for his runway show, with past guests including Madonna, Kylie Jenner, Anna Wintour and Nicki Minaj. His choice to show in Brooklyn says something about Brooklyn becoming an increasingly important area the fashion industry is looking at in terms of retail traffic. Williamsburg is already home to retailers like Sandro and Fred Perry, but could Wang be eyeing it for a store next?
