H&M is making charitable moves to honor Women's History Month and this week's International Women's Day. The U.S. division of the international brand will donate 200 thousand dollars to Girl Up.

Founded by the United Nations Foundation in 2010, Girl Up works with a global community of partners to empower young women who defend gender equality. Girl Up gives young girls resources to start a movement for social change using leadership development training.

In addition to its own donation, H&M is encouraging its shoppers to give to Girl Up as well. Beginning on March 8, which is International Women's Day, H&M will launch a register drive at each of its locations in the U.S. where customers can donate to Girl Up. The drive will run through the end of the month.

With it's donation and promotion, H&M is supporting Girl Up's mission and recognizing its transformative work.
