Los Angeles – The Del Amo Fashion Center just debuted a new addition to their impending, improved fashion wing that has been under development. Japan-based brand Uniqlo opened its doors over the weekend.
The brand is only one of a few retailers set to open at Del Amo within the next couple of months. As an extension of the shopping center, the fashion wing is set to cover two levels and span over 140,000 square feet. Including Uniqlo, the fashion week will also feature Nordstrom, Michael Kors, J. Crew, Madewell and more.
Uniqlo joined Del Amo this past Friday on October 23. The brand is known for its innovate styles that range between utilitarian basics to trendy, cool silhouettes. The brand offers menswear, womenswear and children’s clothing. The brand considers itself a “LifeWear” brand offering functional and timeless clothing to the average persons’ wardrobe. Prices for the brand go up to about 129.90 dollars.
The lifewear brand was founded in 1984. The company is currently a wholly own subsidiary of Fast Retailing Co., Ltd (and has been since 2005). The casual wear designer, manufacturer, and retailer is currently based in Japan. Tadashi Yanai serves as the brand’s current chief executive officer and president. Uniqlo operates in 15 countries globally including Japan, the United States, France, Germany, and more. The brand was reported to have 442 operating stores as of end-May of this year, and aims to continue to open as many as 1,000 stores.
